The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI),  a non-government public interest research institute, requires a Research Fellow with expertise in one or several of the following thematic areas: forestry-livelihoods linkages, development interventions and livelihood realities, development through institutional changes in forest management, and social capital. The duties will include original research and its dissemination through advocacy, policy advice and training.

The ideal candidate will have:

• PhD in social sciences or a related discipline is mandatory.
• At least 4 years of extensive research experience in one or several of the above mentioned thematic areas.
• Good knowledge of forest management paradigms, social development issues, civil society, gender etc. NWFP
• A strong publications record in peer-reviewed international journals.
• Experience of working with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary research teams.
• Advocacy
