BHP Petroleum Pakistan is well placed to develop further growth opportunities in Pakistan.
Reporting to the Joint Venture (JV) & Budgeting Controller, the incumbent will assume responsibility to provide joint venture accounting, budgeting, reporting and management support and advisory to the finance team in particular and to the Pakistan entry set-up in general.
Key accountabilities include leading the JV accounting, budgeting and management accounting processes including preparation, issuance and recording of JV billings and cash calls, issuances of monthly operating expenses reports containing variance analysis, reconciliation of JV partners accounts, JV bank accounts ensuring the JV ledger integrity. Coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders i.e. JV partners, DGPC, Gas and Condensate Customers and internal budget holders. Coordinate preparation of JV meetings & presentations including AFEs. Ensuring compliance with Petroleum Concession Agreement (PCA) and related Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) requirements. Coordinate DGPC reporting, JV meetings and information requirements of all JV partners. Perform month-end, half-year end and year-end JV accounting tasks including preparation of annual JV statutory accounts. Ensure JV governance aspects including annual JV audit, JV partners Audits and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance.
You should be an achievement-oriented and dynamic finance professional with excellent interpersonal skills, high work standards and continuously be able to demonstrate your initiative to work in demanding circumstances. You are expected to possess solid knowledge and analytical skills and provide sound financial advice related to JV matters. Outstanding attention to detail is considered essential and a sold understanding of accounting principles will only enhance your suitability. Moderate domestic travel is required in this role.
To be considered, you must be a qualified CA, ACCA or CIMA with a sound understanding of oil & gas accounting and joint venture accounting, sound knowledge of accounting standards and GAAPs having 2-3 years post qualification expedience. You should have demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency with all frequently used Microsoft office products particularly Microsoft Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of SAP system would be considered an added advantage.
