The Job: Reporting to Business Systems Managers, this role will be responsible to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing corporate database standards and policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and accompanying software. Ensure data load routines, support to developers, implementation of change control procedures, adequate back up procedures and provide support in the event f unexpected database problems.

The Candidates: The incumbent should be a Masters in Computer Science with strong understanding f database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Preferably have five years experience of managing large databases in financial institution, thorough knowledge of database administration, database sizing. SQL scripting including database maintenance activities, performance monitoring and tuning of complex databases, replication configuration and monitoring. Possess hands-on experience with all or most of the database products that include Oracle 10g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Should have excellent time management abilities, problem-solving and communication skills. Should be a good team player, willing to learn and share information. Experience with one or more data modeling tools such as Erwin will be considered a plus. Preferably be below 30 years of age.
