PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO CARRYOUT THE STUDY OF LOSSES AND GAINS IN INDUS BASIN IRRIGATION SYSTEM

Indus River System Authority (IRSA), the implementing agency, has been allocated a portion of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Technical Assistance Loan 2178-Pak (SF). The implementing agency intends to apply the allocated proceeds of loan on Consultancy Services for carrying out the study of losses and Gains in Indus Basin Irrigation System.

The board scope of work, inter alia, includes.

• Assessment of losses / gains in Indus, Kabul, Jhelum & Chenab System reach-wise under different flow conditions & crops seasons;

• Measurement of unrecorded inflows hill-torrents, drainages & adjoining tends into main river system;

• Quantification of percolation into or out of the river bed & sides, evaporation from water surface transpiration by vegetation growing in the river bed;

• To develop a computer model for the losses and gains to ascertain accurately the future flow pattern along with user friendly operational manual for the periodic up-dation of the model

The Project Director IRSA representing for implementing agency invites Expression of interest (EOI) from eligible National & International consulting firms / joint ventures on ADB prescribed specimen for submit detailed proposal as per ADB Guideline in response to our Request for Proposal (REP). The shout listing / selection of consulting firms will be undertaken according to the prescribed guideline on the procurement of Consultants. The selection process is quality and cost based.

EOI by consulting firms, inert alia, should include company profile / brochures, Organizational Structure , proof of existence for at least 5 years , description of similar assignments undertaken in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills amongst staff and proof of financial health (income tax registration etc). Interested Consultants may obtain details / information at address below during office hours (0800 to 1500 hours).

EOI must be delivered at the address below not later than 31st January 2008.
