Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) had established in 1953 in Canada. Our goals are to use a business-oriented approach to international economic development that results in sustainable enterprises for the benefit of the poor.
MEDA has been working in Pakistan since 2004. Recently MEDA has started a project "Market Access to Women Producers in Pakistan: Value Chain Strategies and Organizational Capacity Building for the Integration of Women into Effective Markets" (MAWPP) covering four provinces of Pakistan. MEDA invites immediate applications for a Value Chain Officer for each of the location - Lahore (2), Peshawar / Islamabad (1), and Hyderabad (1) for this project. QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements):
Masters degree in business, international development or related disciplines.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Entrepreneurial perspective solid understanding of SME and micro-enterprise development including: assessing risk, investment decisions, and trading successfully in a local environment.
- A minimum of five years combined experience in enterprise development, project management, key account client management and retention, marketing strategies, strategic alliances.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity development for the management of small business - particularly with women clientele.
- Fluency in English and Urdu is required (both spoken and written). Regional language capabilities in a strong asset.
SKILLS:
Proven strong skills in organizational capacity building, to negotiate with people from diverse backgrounds and compassionate communication and relational skills, ability to assess security hazards and problem-solving skill, ability to work with little supervision, good organizational and management skills. Willing to relocate. Computing skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Project management of the assigned value chain in very close cooperation with the KFP. Implementation of value chain development best practices, monitoring & evaluation, research, and overall project support to the KFP.
- Work closely with our Lead Partner in the capacity building of KFPs in value chain development (needs assessment, mentoring requirements, trouble shooting, etc).
- Participate in the development of the training activities programme, as required.
- Other duties as assigned by Field Project Manager.
