After successfully launching rural telecom projects, Universal Service Fund (a company established by Ministry of IT) is planning to start "Special Projects" which will include, among other things, establishment of multi-purpose tele-entres for those who cannot avail the benefits of IT/Telecom revolution because they are unable to afford PC's/Internet etc.

USF Company is currently looking for a Manager - Special Projects for the purpose Given below are the job requirement and responsibilities.

Requirements

1. Masters degree in social sciences.

2. At least 5 years of social services related experience of working NGO's and/or global donor agencies.

3. An understanding of programme/project development, management and monitoring, preferably ICT related development projects.

4. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

5. Strong oral and written English communication skills.

6. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Description

1. To identify/study Special Projects, prepare write-ups and make presentation for the management and ultimately the Board. This will involve liaison and coordination with stakeholders including IT/Telecom Operators. Government and Non-Government Organizations and Local Government/Communities.

2. To develop Special Projects including project indicators, monitoring mechanisms, work plans and an overall framework for project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).

3. To ensure that potential problems in project implementation are identified and communicated in time.

4. To participate in regular field visits to support implementation and identify areas where adjustments are needed in M&E activities.

5. To scrutinize project-related developments and provide regular reports to management.
