SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited from Pakistan Nations for appointment to the post of Director General National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) an autonomous body under the administrative control of Ministry of Science and Technology.

Detailed particulars of the post are as under:

1) Basic Pay Scale : 20

2) Age: 50-55 years (Relaxable in special Case)

3) Tenure: Three years (extendable for a further Period of two years subject to performance)

4) Job description of the post:

i). Management , both technical and administrative of all affairs of NIO.

ii) Promotion of marine R&D activities for the purpose of protection / preservation of marine environment.

iii) Exploration exploitation and management of marine research and development within the maritime zone of Pakistan.

iv) Any other responsibility assigned by the Ministry of Science and Technology Government of Pakistan.

5) Qualification / Experience:

i) Ph.D from a HEC recognized University in Oceanography, Marine Sciences or related field, with at least 10 years post qualification experience.

ii) M.Phil from  a HEC recognized University in Oceanography, Marine Sciences or related field, with at least 12 years post qualification experience.

iii) M.Sc from HEC recognized University in Oceanography, Marine Sciences or related field, with at least 15 years post qualification experience.

iv) At least research publications in related subjects in National / International journals of repute.

v) Management / administrative experience in a Scientific R&D Organization

6) Place of duty     Karachi

7) Domicile            Merit
