In Its UESTP programme, the Government of Pakistan is establishing a number of technical universities with integrated technology parks in Pakistan, in partnership with countries in Europe and Asia. The PCU is a part of the programme and is based in Islamabad. The PCU will commerce operations at its temporary  campus based in H 8/1, Islamabad from October 2008m from 2011 the PCU campus will be relocated at its permanent site on Kuri Road, Islamabad. It will be a fully residential campus for both faculty and students. The PCU will offer a wide range of engineering disciplines from undergraduate to Ph. D level. Initially degrees from the Chinese partner universities will be awarded to the graduates. Eventually PCU degrees will be awarded s a dual degree.

During the start-up phase (at the temporary location) in the first year, the university will offer the following two-year Master's degree courses through selected consortium of elite Chinese universities. The programs listed below are being offered by the Beijing university of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT, ranked member ONE in IT and Telecommunication in China.

Applications are invited for Faculty appointment to the PCU. Last date for receipt of applications is 14" August 2008.

QUALIFICATION:

Ph. D degrees in any of the following disciplines:

• Computer Science / Engineering

• Electronics / Electrical Engineering

• Telecommunication Engineering

• Information Technology

• Mathematics / Statistics

SALARY

The appointment will be governed by HEC's tenure track system www.pcu.edu.pk/tts with the following ranges:

Professor: Rs, 180,000 - 8,800 - 312, 500

Associate Professor: Rs, 120, 000 - 7,000 - 226, 250

Assistant Professor: Rs, 80,000 - 5,000 - 161, 000

DUTIES

1. To reach designed course topics collaboration with the faculty from the Chinese partner universities who will formally be responsibilities for the course.

2. To carry out research independently or in collaboration with colleagues from China.

3. To take part in the academic administration and management of the PCU.
