Notice Inviting Tender

1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Earthquake Emergency Assistance Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payment under contact for supply, Installation, testing and commissioning of PLC equipment and both end of Jagran-Muzaffarbad Transmission Line.

2. The Hydro Electric Board (HEB) invites seals bids from eligible Bidders / Manufacturers for supply, Installation testing and commissioning of "Power Line Carrier" indoor telecom panels alongwith 48V DC battery chargers at both ends of Jagran-Muazaffarabad 132KV Transmission Line, Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir.

3. National competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage Two Envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible Bidders / Manufacturers may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents, at the address below from 09:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs.

5. The Bidding Documents in the English languages, may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Rs. 5000 in the shape of pay order in favour of Director (Planning) AJK Hydro Electric Board. If requested, the Bidding Document will be sent by post provided that postal charges of Rs. 500 are paid in addition. No liability will accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address on or before 05-07-2007 at 13:00 hrs. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security amounting to Rs. 200,000 which shall be placed inside the envelop containing the Technical Proposal. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidder's representatives who choose to attend at the address below on the 03-06-2007 at 13:00 hrs.

7. HEB will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation to delivery or Bids.

8. Income Tax / Sales Tax will be deducted as per Government Rules.
