Applications Invited
Online Applications are invited form Pakistani/AJK Nationals
for Ph.D Fellowships in ALL Areas of Studies under the scheme “Indigenous PHD
Fellowships”
Students will be eligible for HEC scholarship for study in
those Universities/degree awarding institutions who have adopted the HEC
Quality Assurance Criteria for Mphil/PhD level Studies.
Basic Eligibility
Criteria
- Scholar
should have a degree with minimum 16 years of education with no 3rd
division or grade “D” in his/ (her career.
- Must
be regular student of HEC recognized university, fulfilling the HEC
Quality for MS/PhD Programme (for already enrolled scholars only).
- Must
not be availing any other scholarship currently.
- Maximum
age is 35 years, except for people working on regular basis in public
whose maximum age is 40 years, by closing date of submission of
application.
- The
Scholar will have to be a full-time student to avail the scholarship.
Those who are employed have to arrange study leave for the full duration
of their study programme.
- Scholar
must qualify the local GRE (general) type test with at-least 50 Marks or
above. Please not that 50 is the minimum qualifying score, and does not
stand assurance for final selection, for that separate merit will be
prepared.
Scholarships will be awarded to the following two categories
of scholars:
Category-A, Already
Enrolled Scholars in PhD Programme only
- Must
be full-time PhD Student in a Department/institute which fulfils the HEC
quality Criteria for MS/M.Phil/PhD level studies and should have a minimum
of 03 PhD faculty members out of them at least 02 must be HEC Approved
Supervisors.
- Must
be conducting studies under the Supervision of an HEC Approved PhD
Supervisor and the number of PhD students enrolled with that supervisor
should be below the maximum limit as specified by the HEC list of HEC
approved supervisors available at http://www.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/DIvisions/HED/ApprovedPhDSupervisors/Pages/ListofSupervisors.aspx
- Must
have passed the entry test (GRE type) of the relevant university for PhD
programme scoring 50% or above marks. (See details at HEC website)
- Should
meet the “Basic Eligibility Criteria” listed above.
Category-B: Fresh
Enrollment in MS.M.Phil/PhD Programme
a.
Scholarships will be offered to those candidates
who will subsequently secure their Admission in MS/M.Phil/PhD in the
Universities/Departments fulfilling the HEC quality criteria for MS/M.Phil/PhD
level studies.
b.
Must fulfill the “Basic Eligibility Criteria”
Listed above.
c.
Its is the responsibility of applicant to provide
the valid admission in MS/MPhil leading to PhD Programme in a department of HEC
recognized university which has adopted and implemented the HEC Quality
Criteria for MS/Mphil and PhD level studies. In case of failure, HEC reserves
the right to withdraw/cancel scholarship without any further notice.
Application procedure
a.
Prospective candidates should fill in Online
Application form available at HEC website and POST the printed copy along with
the pre-requisite documents at the address given below, along with an online
BANK Deposit Slip of Rs. 300/- (non-refundable) in favour of the Director
General Finance, Higher, Education Commission, H-9, Islamabad,
on A/C NO. 01120050011901, HBL Aabpara Branch Islamabad as processing fee.
b.
Those who have already taken the GAT test conducted
by NTS on or after 17th April 2009, and before last date of
submission of applications can use their score (50 or above score) to apply
with online bank deposit slip of Rs. 300/- as professing fee.
c.
No application will be entertained/processed having
incomplete information without appropriate fee receipt, NTS GAT Score Card (50
or above marks) and received after closing date.
d.
Only online application forms will be entertained
