Job Location: Islamabad / Karachi

In its ongoing endeavor to provide effective services, SECP is reinforcing its management team at Islamabad and building a new team at Karachi. This initiative is aimed at consolidating SECP's presence to further enhance its effectiveness for playing a proactive role in interfacing with key market players, intermediaries and other stakeholders to improve the regulatory regimes applicable to various market constituents.

Towards this end, SECP is seeking to attract high caliber professional to take up & achieve its objectives. The Legal Department provides impartial legal advice to each operational Division and Department of the Commission, and manages directs the litigation involving the SECP and develops law reform initiatives in consultation with Market Stakeholders and the Government. Director Legal would be a key member of the management team and will be responsible for delivering SECP mandate and achieving its vision.

The ideal candidate should be an Advocate High Court and not more than 40 years of age. He/She would have at leat an LLB Degree (Bar-at-Law / LLM degree holders will be preferred) from a renowned foreign or local Institution. He/She should have 8 years of versatile Legal experience (of which at least 3 years should be in Pakistan) in the field of Corporate Legal Consultancy or Corporate Litigation, in a well reputed Multinational / National Group, Financial Institution, Regulatory Organization or Private Law Firm.

The individual should be a strong relationship builder, confident at senior levels who is able to challenge and articulate opinions succinctly & persuasively, and must be comfortable in working in an automated work environment, and should have impeccable integrity, leadership qualities, positive attitude, and superior legal writing/drafting pre4sentation, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
