Invitation for Proposal
Zoological Survey Department invites technical and
financial proposal fro the interested firms with detailed experience/experience
in Designing and Development of the International Standard Zoological -
Botanical Garden for Research, Scientific Education and Recreational purposes at
Banni Gala Islamabad on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
The land earmarked for this purpose measures 725 acres,
falls in scrub vegetation zone and comprises of a semi-mountainous eye catching
tract that drains into Rawal Lake. The main objective of this project is to
promote World Class Scientific, Educational and Recreational Facilities in
Pakistan. It would be place to relax, rejuvenate, and experience the wonders of
nature blended with full entertainment. The main features of the project would
include:
- A Complete Botanical Garden with more than 3000 plant
species. It should have classified gardens and a forest of different types of
trees. This Garden should be one of the World's largest collections of plants,
the region's leading educational center for gardening and horticulture, and an
international center for plant research.
- A complete Zoological Garden based on "Open Zoo"
concept. The animals are to be kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures,
separated from the visitors by dry or wet moats. The end result is a feeling
of openness. The Zoological Garden will have more than three thousand animals
of at least 200 species.
- Aquarium building containing the Sea Life giving the
feel of standing deep into the sea.
- "Night Safari". This part would be built for visit at
night also. Night Safari offers guests the unique experience of exploring
wildlife in a jungle at night. Through the use of subtle lighting technique,
guests are able to view over 1,000 nocturnal animals of 100 species in vast
naturalistic habitats.
- Overhead Train or Cable car to have the full view of
the Park.
- A complete entertainment park, like Disney Land or
Genting Highland Rides of different kinds fun games theatres, cinemas,
restaurants, resorts etc.
- All other entertainments as proposed by the developing
company and approved by the Ministry.
- Theme Park
- Commercial Centre
- Data & Publication Centre
- Any other Recreational/Allied facilities
The firm should possess sufficient international exposure
in relevant field to design, plan, execute and operate the said project. The
respective firm shall be required to deposit Rs. 2.5 million as earnest money
along with documentary evidence supporting their claim of experience, stating
contract amount, start and completion dates of the referred project.
The firms short-listed will be asked to make a
presentation on the proposal to the Ministry of Environment, giving details of
financial projections and physical work involved. The proposal should reach the
following address by 20th August, 2007.
