Re-Invitation for Pre-qualification

Islamic Republic of Pakistan, National Expressways Project (Phase-I), Loan / Credit

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has applied for a loan/ credit from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) towards the cost of the National Expressways Project, and intends to apply to part of the proceeds of this Loan / Credit to payments under the contract for National Expressways Project (phase-I)

The National Authority intends to pre-qualify contractors and / or firms for.

c. Package- ICB -1

Wazirabad_Pindi Bhattian Expressway and

d. Package - ICB - 2

Khanewal - Lodhran Expressway and

It is expected that invitation to bid will be made in November 2007.

Pre-qualification  will be conducted the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits. (May 2004) revised October 2006 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the pre-qualification documents, at National Highways Authority (address below) from 0800 hours to 1500 hours. A complete set of pre-qualification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants (a) on the submission of a written application to the address below and (b) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Pak.25,000/- or 415 U$$. The method of payment will be Demand Draft / Pay Order in favour of National Highway Authority Islamabad or the same can be down loaded from NHA website as mentioned below. If  down loaded from NHA website, demand draft / pay order for Pak Rs. 25,000/- or 500 U$$ being non-refundable fee of PQ document will be sent by courier No. liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

The firms who, in response to earlier advertisement dated 31st March 2007 have already submitted their applications with non-refundable fee are required to re-submit their application without any payment.

Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered  to the address below by 22nd September 2007. and be clearly marked "Application to Pre-qualify for Wazirabad- Pindi Bhattian Expressway and Khanewal- Lodhran Expressway ".
