1. The Government of the Punjab through the Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is an agreement with the Asian Development Bank (Loan No. 2211- PAK / 2212- PAK (SF) for the overall environment works in Rawalpindi. Planning and design of sewerage network, outfall / trunk sewer, and Sewage Treatment Plant are main components besides water supply improvement, Slaughterhouse relocation, and improve Solid Waste Management under "Rawalpindi Environmental Improvement Project."

2. The City District Government Rawalpindi (Executing Agency) through Project Management Unit (PMU), REIP invites sealed bids for following works.

i) Contract Package No: NCB / SD / DW-05:

a) Remodeling of Murree road Drain

b) Remodeling of Nia Muhallah Drain.

c) Remodeling of Jamia Masjid Drain

ii) Contract Package No: NCB / DS / DW-06:

a) Remodeling of Eidgah Drain

b) Remodeling of Bus Stand Drain.

3. Bidders can participate in one or all sub packages.

4. The Bidders may obtain further information from Project Director (PD) Project Management Unit (PMU) REIP Rawalpindi from 0900 to 1400 hrs on all working days from date of publication. The tender document in English language may be purchased by eligible firms on submission application to the address given below and upon payment of non refundable amount of Rs. 10,000/- (Pak Rupees Ten Thousands only) by demand draft payable to Project Director PMU, REIP, Rawalpindi and receive the documents by hand or these will be dispatched by courier. The Project Director PMU, REIP will not be responsible for the loss or late receipt of tender document sent through courier service.

5. The firms / Joint firms from eligible member countries of the Asian Development Bank including already prequalified firms can also participate in the bids on ABD "single stage two envelop criteria". The bids of which will be in the form of two envelop i.e. Technical and Financial proposals separately. Financial proposals of technically qualified bids will be opened.

6. All bids must be accompanied by the security bid deposit in the form demand draft not less than 2% of the bids price. Bids will be isused up to 21 August 2007 and must be delivered to the Project Director, PMU REIP, Rawalpindi before 01:30 PM on 23 August 2007 and technical bids of non-prequalified firms will be opened on same date at 02:00 PM in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to be present at the given time and premises. Financial bids of technically qualified bidders along with prequalification firms will be opened on 30th August 2007. Bids received late will not be considered valid for opening and returned.

7. Project Director, REIP will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidder in connection with preparation or delivery of bids.

8. The Project Director, PMU, REIP reserves the right to waive off any minor informality in the bids or accept or reject any or all the bids with out assigning any reason thereof.
