Applications for Funding Research Projects Under Access to Justice Development Fund

The Access to Justice Development Fund ((AJDF) is a statutory endowment established by the Government of Pakistan to improve  the Functionality of Courts and legal services through Judicial and legal research and improving the quality of legal education. The Fund is being administered by the Law and justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP). The LJCP plans to support projects aimed at improving the service delivery component of judicial/legal services and development of professional standards of legal professionals through quality legal education.

Areas for proposals:

The Proposals should be aimed at to undertake research project in the following areas:-

I.  Judicial and legal Research Window:

i).       Legal and Judicial research aimed at improving the delivery of judicial and legal services and the quality of the judgments:

ii).     Initiatives to reform laws and advocacy related endeavors;

II. Fund for innovations in Legal Education Window:

i).      Innovations in teaching of legal education and development of curriculum, including funding of pilot projects:

ii).     Improving standard of legal education:

iii).    Improvement in professionals of the legal professionals.

Who are eligible to access the funds?

Lawyers, academicians, researchers, human rights activities, institutions, law colleges, law faculty of the universities, Bar Councils, bar Associations and well reputed civil society organizations interested in Judicial and legal reforms and research are eligible to access funds to execute projects.

Note:

  • Application must be prescribed format and duly documented.
  • Forms, criteria and details of documents required to accompany project proposal can be downloaded from LJCP website at www.ljcp.gov.pk
  • Relevant government Rules/Procedures shall apply regarding management, disbursement and utilization of funds.
  • Incomplete and late submission of project proposals will be entertained.
  • The proposals are required to submit both hard and soft copies of the proposal.
  • The secretariat services the right to accept or reject any proposal.

The last date for submission of applications is February 29th, 2012.
