GEOPHYSICAL CONSULTANT EOI

The Government of Pakistan has received a Grant from the Government of Japan-Policy and Human Resources Development (PHRD) Grant-for the preparation of the Mineral Sector Technical Assistant Project (MTAP) to support the development of the natural resources sector, in particular in Balochistan Province, and intend to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services. At this time, the Ministry o Petroleum and Natural Resources (MPNR) is seeking to identify the consultant, specialist in Geophysical. The major tasks within the scope of services include:

• Working with Director General (minerals), MPNR, Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP), and Director General Mines & Minerals, Balochistan to delineate exact area of coverage for an airborne geophysical survey in Balochistan.
• Estimate corresponding cost for implementation of the survey and preparation of terms of reference.

The ministry of petroleum and Natural Resources now invites eligible persons having Master / M. Phil in geophysics having at least 10 year experience related to defining and estimating the cost of geophysical airborne to surveys, proficient in database management. Interested persons must provide information indicating corporate qualifications to perform the services (brochures, description, papers of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills / staff, etc.)

A person will be selected in accordance with the procedure set out in the World Bank's Procurement Guidelines; selection and Employment of Consultancy by World Bank Borrows (May 2004-revised October 2006.)
