Project Funding under (AJDF)

INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS
Funding of Project under Access to justice Development Fund (AJDF)

 A. The Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) plans to support in the justice sector under the Access Development Fund (AJDF). This Fund is a statutory endowment to improve citizen's access to justice through promotion of legal empowerment, legal / judicial research, legal education and development of subordinate judiciary. AJDF is an currently being implemented by the Government of Pakistan.

B. Eligibility Criteria to Access Funds
Lawyers, academicians, researchers and experienced civil society organizations / individuals interested in the justice sector reforms are eligible to access funds  under AJDF.
C. interested organizations / individuals are requested to submit proposals to LJCP Secretariat as per details given below;

I. Legal Empowerment Fund
Proposals are invited from public / private Organizations, Institutions, NGOs Professional Bodies and Individuals to Implement projects aimed at providing;
(i) clinical legal aid to client affected by violation of their fundamental rights by the executive, especially on matters concerned with criminal justice;
(ii) representation in  public interest litigation;
(iii) public awareness and legal literacy campaigns and
(iv) awareness on environmental laws.

II. Fund for Legal / Judicial Research
Proposals are invited to undertake
(i) legal and judicial research aimed at improving the delivery of judicial and legal services and the quality of the judgments;
(ii) initiatives to reform laws and advocacy related endeavors.

III. Fund for Innovations in Legal Education:
Proposals are invited to undertake
(i) innovations in teaching of legal education and development of curriculum;
(ii) improving standard of legal educations;
(iii) improvement in professional standards of the legal professionals.

D. Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested institutions / organizations are required to attach organizational profile proof of legal existence (registration under a relevant law) NTN and particulars of members of Project team, their leader, qualifications, professional, experience and 3 years audited statement with the proposal. individual proposers are required to attach a copy of his / her National Identity Card. NTN detailed Curriculum Vitae, two reference letter, qualifications and professional experience.

Note:

  • Relevant Government Rules / Procedures shall apply regarding disbursement management and utilization of funds.
  • Incomplete and late submission of project proposals will not be entertained.
  • Interested organizations / individuals are requested to downloaded application forms / criteria and instructions for filling in forms from LJCP website at www.ljcp.gov.pk or write to LJCP for accessing a hard copy of the desired documents.

The last date for submission of application is 31th October, 2007.
